How to Enter

1. Fill out a completed entry form (photocopies accepted) for every entry. Limit three entries per person per category. Visit www.vacationdaysmagazine.com to enter digital images and fill out a form online. Please submit photo caption information with each entry.
2. Mail prints (no slides or transparencies, please) to: Vacation Days Photo Contest, 301 Sovereign Ct. Ste. 200, St. Louis, MO 63011.
3. Deadline: All entries must be received on or before December 31, 2007.

Prizes

A $500 credit with ReserveDirect on your next vacation booked with them will be awarded to the winner of each category. Honorable mentions chosen to run in the magazine will receive a 10% discount on their next vacation booked through ReserveDirect.

Rules

1. It’s free. There are no entry fees.
2. Entrants must be 13 years of age or older.
3. Employees of Vacation Days magazine or Missouri Life Publishing, their immediate families, professional photographers (people who earn 50% or more of their income from photography), and regular contributors to Vacation Days magazine are not eligible.
4. Photos must be taken by the entrant. Photos that have been previously published are not eligible.
5. Submit color or black-and-white prints (no larger than 8x10) from negatives, slides, or digital images. You may enter digital images by visiting www.vacationdaysmagazine.com, filling out the form, and uploading images. Do not mail entries on CDs.
6. Do not mat, mount, or frame prints.
7. Carefully pack all of your entries between protective cardboard coverings if mailing.
8. Vacation Days magazine is not responsible for any material lost, damaged, or misdirected in the mail or while in our possession. Unlabeled or late entries will not be accepted. Vacation Days reserves the right to disqualify photos deemed unsuitable.
9. Entries will not be returned.  All entries may be used by Vacation Days magazine for publishing or marketing purposes. Photo credits will be given appropriately.

Judging

1. Entries will be judged according to the overall quality of the photograph, with special attention paid to the composition of the image, exposure, color, and focus.
2. Judges’ decisions will be final. Vacation Days will select expert editors and photographers as judges.
3. Each category will have one winner. Winners will be notified by mail or phone.
4. Winning photographs will be published in the Spring/Summer 2008 issue of Vacation Days.
